Valentine's day- Have Mercy on Guy's (A Guy's Perspective)

The demon of V-Day is now accompanied by, Teddy Day, Chocolates Day, Hugs Day, in if you felt it’s all than beware we are still left with the Slap Day.

February 14th is just around the corner, and it's once again time for our Special Valentine to expect to receive the royal treatment from their male counterparts. Around this day the business of florists, chocolates and everything that could be gifted to a girl will be on its high but there will be one thing which will go amazingly low and that’s money in all the guys wallets.

Me and my friends call this day “Fear of Death Day”. Every Valentine’s eve, all men like me can be found in the card section of different stores with awkward expressions over our faces, frantically reading through all kinds of syrupy and loud cards that we wouldn’t think of touching any other time of the year- each and every one of us petrified thinking that we had almost forgotten the Valentine’s day for that special woman in our lives, sometimes even the valentine changes with the calendar year but very few of the guys are so lucky. Every Valentine’s day we all just keep thinking that why men have to do anything! Why don't women treat their men this year and those to follow?

How we guys think about the Valentine’s Day is obviously, just too different from the girls perspective. We just want to play it safe so that we don’t get into any trouble with our loved ones– and perhaps, if we are very lucky than a little bit more on the romantic side. We don’t want boutiques at the office as it sounds too girlish, not even the (her favorite) dress which she bought for us last year as it was only worn once (as it wasn’t at all which we could take the pain of wearing twice) and those teddies and cards still lying in the drawers, without even having a second look(too ridiculous). So what do the guys really want is the real question?

Guys like us just need a good French kiss, a good meal cooked at home, the least of expenditure that we could make. Remembering an old saying that a “The way to a man’s heart goes through his stomach", So just a good meal and same good romantic talks will do the trick for guys.

We hate scratching our heads from a month in advance over where to take our special girl, decide over the card that she may like, chocolate flavors that she likes, cakes for her, dresses,the perfect gifts for her this Valentine's Day and all these things and trying to figure out a plan, only to decide everything on the V-Day’s eve in a hotch-potch manner. It frustrates even more when at the last moment she starts complaining about the color of the dress, design of the cards, food of the restaurant and all those little things which didn’t allow us to sleep for weeks.

The pain in our ass is that now it’s just not a day rather the demon has evolved into a big monster, as now we have a whole Valentine’s week in front of us, to take care of. We guys just hope after the end of every year that may the things change next year and from next year onwards it will just be the girls taking care of all this and we could just be on the enjoying end. Even I hope the same and pray to the almighty that please have some mercy over all of us guys. As even we are your sons only.
